Lena Katharina Öttl is a PhD student working on erosion feedbacks of crop biomass in the Uckermark region in North-East Germany. The research is in cooperation with the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e.V. in Müncheberg.

She did her MSc. in Climate and Environmental Sciences at the University of Augsburg and spend one semester at the Institute of Soil Landscape Research at ZALF. There, she started working on her research topic which was continued in her master thesis. The thesis deals with erosion feedbacks on the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) of arable crops in a climate-sensitive catchment in North-East Germany.

Her research interests are:

  • Remote sensing of agricultural used areas
  • Relation of tillage erosion on crop biomass
